You can enter words into any or all of these fields to search the Resources and Services Database. NOTE: For suggestions and hints on searching this database, read the search tips.

Use this field to search for any word, phrase, numerical sequence, or abbreviation anywhere in the entire database. If you are not sure where a certain word or phrase might appear, enter it in this field. Be sure to use quotation marks surrounding specific phrases, numerical sequences, and abbreviations, for retrieval of exact information.

To use this field to search for phone numbers, you must enter a 7 digit phone number without the area code or dashes.

To search for records with the words "outpatient" and "psychotherapy", enter the following:

Use this field to find organizations with a certain word or words in their names. city. If you enter an organization with more than one word in its name, put quotes around it.

Note: Selecting the and operator (default) allows for a more specific search. The or operator allows for a broader search. Read the search tips for further explanation.

To find organizations with "training" or "education" or both in their names, enter the following:

Use this field to find organizations in a particular state, province, or territory.

You may select more than one state by holding down the "Control" key on your keyboard while clicking on another state with your mouse. You may also use this method to deselect states.

Example:
To find organizations in Alabama or Arizona, select the following:

Use this field if you are searching for organizations in a country other than the United States.

You may select more than one country by holding down the "Control" key on your keyboard while clicking on another country with your mouse. You may also use this method to deselect countries.

Use this field to find organizations located in a particular city. If you enter a city with more than one word in its name, put quotes around it. You may search for multiple cities using the "or" operator.

To find organizations in Los Angeles, enter the following:

ZIP Code

Use this field to find organizations in a particular ZIP Code. Enter the five-digit ZIP Code. If you do not get any results, try adding a city name to your search or a ZIP Code of another area geographically near to the original ZIP Code. You may enter the ZIP Code with its four-digit extensions. For example, "20910-2698" can be searched.

Note: Selecting the and operator (default) allows for a more specific search.

To find organizations in ZIP Codes 20910, enter the following:

Use this field to find organizations that service a particular area code. You cannot search by complete phone number in this field, only area code.

To find organizations serving the 212 and 718 area codes, enter the following:

Use this field if you are looking for an organization that has a staff member or members who speak a language other than or in addition to English.

You may select more than one language by holding down the "Control" key on your keyboard while clicking on another language with your mouse. You may also use this method to deselect languages.

Example:
To find an organization that has a staff member that knows American Sign Language, select the following:

Use this field to search for organizations that list a specific phone type.

You may select more than one phone type by holding down the "Control" key on your keyboard while clicking on another phone type with your mouse. You may also use this method to deselect phone types.

Use this field to search for organizations that target a particular group of people with their services.

You may select more than one target audience by holding down the "Control" key on your keyboard while clicking on another target audience with your mouse. You may also use this method to deselect target audiences.

To find organizations that target adolescents, enter the following:

Primary and Secondary Organization Type

Use these fields to search for organizations depending on their primary and secondary functions. Choose organization types from the list menus. The Primary Organization Type describes the primary function of an organization, and the Secondary Organization Type describes a secondary function of an organization. You may use both fields or just one.

You may select more than one organization type by holding down the "Control" key on your keyboard while clicking on another organization type with your mouse. You may also use this method to deselect organization types. If multiple organization types are selected, the "or" operator is implied.

Example:
To find AIDS service organizations that are also social service organizations, select the following:

Use this field to search for organizations at a certain level. Choose a level from the list menu.

You may select more than one organizational level by holding down the "Control" key on your keyboard while clicking on another organizational level with your mouse. You may also use this method to deselect organizational levels. If multiple organization levels are selected, the "or" operator is implied.

Example:
To find international organizations, select the following:

Display Formatting

There are two display options that control the format and the number of results displayed on your screen. These options are found at the bottom of the Resources and Services Database search page.

Select Display Format

  1. List of matching organizations.
    Selecting this option will display a list of only organization names on your screen. To view the full record of one organization, click on the highlighted name.

    You may also view multiple records. Click in the checkboxes next to the records you want to see, then click on the View button at the top or bottom of the screen to show the multiple, detailed records.

  2. Complete information about matching organizations.
    Selecting this option will display all of the results in full format, meaning that all of the fields in a particular record will be displayed on your screen.

Maximum Number of Organizations to Display
If you want to change the number of organizations that can be displayed, you may change the number in the box. The maximum amount of organizations that can be displayed is 999.

Maximum Number of Organizations to Display Per Page
You may change the amount of organizations displayed per page by adjusting the number. The maximum number of organizations to display per page is 99.

To refine your search, you may search the database by specific services by clicking the Refine button. Choose from the services listed in several different subject categories. You may select one or more services by holding down the "Control" key on your keyboard while clicking on the option with your mouse.
