Lynn Franzoi is the Senior Vice President, Benefits for Fox Entertainment Group, Inc., where she is responsible for the design, administration and financing for domestic and international benefit programs for more than 13,000 employees. Ms. Franzoi also is responsible for the Fox Child Development Center. She is on the National Partners Board of the Business/Labor Responds to AIDS programs, a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Employee Benefits Committee, Chairperson for the U.S. Chamber’s Qualified Plan Subcommittee, a volunteer facilitator for AIDS-in-the-workplace education for The Positive Workplace, on the board of the Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement and is currently serving on a three-year appointment to the Department of Labor’s ERISA Advisory Council.


Corporate America faces many challenges in trying to provide competitive, comprehensive benefit packages to employees. Diabetes, heart disease, AIDS and other chronic illnesses drive up direct health care costs, while absenteeism, disability and life insurance costs also increase the expense of doing business. HIV/AIDS affects employers, employees and former employees. How can employers be supportive, emotionally and financially, while controlling rising costs? There are best-in-practice approaches employers can use to create a work environment and a benefits package that help employees. Both employee and employer benefit from this approach. The employer is able to attract and retain talented, motivated people in the workplace and the employee has a benefits package that meets his/her needs.
